Calgary native Andrew Love is in the enviable position of balancing his time between engagements on Broadway and on the opera stage. Heard as the Bishop and Javert (understudy) in Les Misérables in Toronto, he was also engaged for the same roles in the 2014 Broadway revival of the show and the National Tour that ran from 2017 - 2020. In 2021-2022, Andrew joined Pacific Opera Victoria for a filmed presentation of For A Look Or A Touch by Jake Heggie. He continued his 2022 season in Calgary making his role debut as Danilo in The Merry Widow.

In earlier seasons, he starred as Doug Hansen in Everest, Charlie in the Calgary Opera production of Filumena, Marcello in La bohème for Against the Grain Theatre, and Schultz in Louis Riel for the Canadian Opera Company, at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa and for Opéra de Québec.

Further credits include Hannah Before in As One (Opera on the Avalon), Baron Douphol in La traviata (Calgary Opera/Opéra de Québec), Papageno in The Magic Flute (Highlands Opera), Lord Cecil in Maria Stuarda and Dancaïre in Carmen, both for Pacific Opera Victoria, Marco in Gianni Schicchi with Calgary Opera, Silvio in Pagliacci (Opera Hamilton), Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro (Saskatoon Opera) and Sid in Albert Herring (Opera on the Avalon). As a concert artist, he has been heard with the New Brunswick Symphony, Indian River Festival, Westben Festival, Grand Philharmonic Choir, Buffalo Philharmonic, at Avery Fisher Hall and the Global Cabaret Festival in works such as Carmina Burana, Fauré’s Requiem, Messiah, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Brahms’s Requiem. Mr. Love received his training at the University of Toronto where he received the ARIAS Distinguished Graduate Award, and as an inaugural member of the Calgary Opera Emerging Artist Development Program

He now lives in Connecticut with his husband and their dogs Toby and Walter, where he runs a vocal studio emphasizing performance skills and communication.
